Mixing

‘Mixing’ is the process of balancing overall levels, spectrums, and localization of multiple audio tracks.

Mixing in film sound primarily requires juggling three major components, dialogue, sound effects, and music.

Mixing in video games can require a different thought process in addition to traditional mixing, by additionally setting priority hierarchies to avoid too many sounds being played at any given time, in the case of games with a lot of events, like first-person shooter games.
